Hi,
I'm Rebecca and I created this website as a community service project for my community. My interest in home funerals and green burials began as a teenager. As a budding environmentalist and a teenage obsession with the poem, Thanatopsis , I naturally gravitated to those subjects. However, it was not until I moved to San Diego and discovered Thresholds (RIP Barbara Kernan), a home and family directed funeral business that my interest peaked. I learned the reasons for the decline in home funerals in the United States. I also learned about the BUSINESS of the funeral industry and the questionable practices disreputable funeral homes take on grieving families.
I am no longer living in Arkansas but still dedicated to death and dying education and home funerals but will be focused on servicing my new community in Nevada. I will be leaving this website up reference but will not be updating it at this time. I'm including a listing of the films that you may be able to find online or on youtube to learn more about home funerals and death and dying. Films include:
